CNC milling removes material with rotating cutting tools under programmed positional control. It is used for faces, profiles, slots, pockets, holes and other features that cannot be produced by turning alone.
Integrated routing
Milling may be quoted as a primary operation or as a secondary operation on a turned or fabricated component. The route is selected against drawing datums, required positional accuracy, batch quantity and workholding requirements.
Design review
Internal corner radii, tool reach, pocket depth, wall thickness and clamping access can materially affect manufacturability and cost. These items are reviewed before quotation or prototyping.
